ABOUT ALEXANDER GALANT

Director and Adaptor of Dracula The Un-Dead Dramatic Reading

Historical Researcher for Dracula The Un-Dead Novel

Alexander Galant has a deep and abiding love of history that goes beyond the general and reaches back into the nitty-gritty. Alexander does not just want to know who the history makers were. He delves into the little things that the history text books leave out, such as transportation, water supplies, clothing trends, work hours, etiquette, etc. and how these mostly overlooked details influenced both the common man and the history makers and helped shape their thinking and events. It was in this capacity that Alexander was honored to be asked by Dacre Stoker and Ian Holt to assist them with the historical research for their Stoker family endorsed sequel to Bram Stoker's immortal 1897 novel, Dracula.

Alexander used various skills and tools that were at his disposal including rare maps of Victorian London, plans for the antiquated sewer systems, Edwardian train schedules, old photos and even made use of Facebook to contact colleagues in other countries to take photos of local period statues and monuments that still exist or track information to bring full accuracy to Stoker and Holt's novel.

Alexander Galant has amassed endless hours of research of Dracula. Not only for Dracula The Un-Dead, but also for the recreation of Bram Stoker's staged reading of Dracula, as well as for the play Count Dracula, and a proposed Dracula TV Series, with Mickey Rooney as Van Helsing. Alexander has put his heralded historical researching skills to use in various stage productions (Diary of Anne Frank, Singin' in the Rain and Love Letters), film and television productions (including Twice in a Lifetime series and the remake of Brian's Song). Alexander went on to win awards for directing theatre and writing/directing short films. Alexander recently completed co-writing the story with Ian Holt (who has screenplay credit) for the film adaptation of Dracula The Un-Dead.
